May I know how to test the snmp support? I have a m0n0wall 1.8.1, just updated it to the smallwall beta release 1.8.4b9 (using System > Firmware > Enable firmware upload > Upgrade firmware)
After reboot, I can see the theme changed to SmallWall, and Status > System > shows 1.8.4b9.
I tried to run this snmpwalk command from another linux box, but got the error below, 172.28.123.200 is the LAN ip of the smallwall, and I can login into it with this IP.
$ snmpwalk -v2c -c public 172.28.123.200 "Timeout: No Response from 172.28.123.200"
I checked "Services > SNMP > Enable SNMP agent", also tried disable it and re-enable it again, but it still not work.

Well, I am not sure what your problem is, but you may want to look at the client. I use the Java client from ireasoning. www.ireasoning.com/mibbrowser.shtml It is just easier. And I can see everything on mine running 1.8.4b9 and I am monitoring clients (business clients not software clients...) with 1.8.3 among other versions using Cacti. That said the command above worked for me. Is your firewall allowing it? If you are coming from the WAN, your ISP may be filtering it... Did you bind SNMP to LAN only and are you trying to se it from a different interface?

I can not have "Bind to LAN interface only" checked as I am connecting to Smallwall through a vlan.
Maybe you have the same problem?

SNMP should work over vlans as well, but his assumes that vlan tagging is correct, that the firewall allowes it, and that all nics involved actually support it.
