Hi guys, So I've been trying to write smallwall or m0n0wall to a CF card but havent been successfull. I'm using linux dd command as described on the respective m0n0wall / smallwall websites. I'm trying to install it on the Fujitsu Futro s500 thinclient but everytime I boot it with the CF card it just gives me a blank screen. Could it be compatibility issues or am I doing something wrong? Kindly assist. Attachments:

Managed to write the image using the xp tool...I still dont know why the Linux command didnt work although it would indicate that data has been copied to the card.

Odd... Not sure why that would be the case, but I am glad you have it working! I have found a lot of the thin clients to be VERY picky on how they boot. Like not booting from a USB CD-ROM if it is SATA, but will if it is IDE! (Really) And CF cards can also sometimes just not like a specific adapter for no good reason... It can be a bit of a challenge. And I am putting your report on the web page for hardware. I have not seen those before. You can not find them in the US.

Yes...its working pretty well for me, 512mb RAM, 512mb CF card, 1Ghz processor. Very low power consumption which is the main aim I decided to look for something like this since I want to go solar. Got them from Germany for around $26 each.

Saw a lot on eBay in Germany, but shipping was a lot for them! (To the US)

Yes, the shipping can be too much, I was lucky to have someone fly back with them stashed in the suitcase, so no shipping charges. At first I was worried about the heating, this thing is heating up much but then its been up for almost a week with no noticeable effect on performance...then again, its fanless and I'm just hoping it will be able to hold on for much longer.
