Dear Users,
I'm using monowall and now smallwall 1.8.4 for abt. 5 years now and I'm very satisfied.
But my ISP provider changed the line to my building and provided an new modem with included Firewall. As I would stay with Smallwall and have my IPSec tunnel I asked for a direct interface or a bridging function. Not available! There is a bypass function, but it must use a fixed IP to the modem and over this I have to use PPPoE. Is there a solution to set a fixed IP together with PPPoE on smallwall?
Sorry for my english and many thanks for your help.
Yours, Johann

Best I can say right now is no. There was some work done on this in the past, and one guy actually had a patch to do it, but it was in the old 1.34 series, and is way out of date now. I think it could be done if someone really wanted to figure out how the m0n0-mod guy built it and apply it to the new version, however.

Dear Lee,
Many thanks for the very quick answer. As I don't have any experience with BSD i will check for an other ISP, as I'm comfortable with smallwall!. Very interesting: The popping up advertisement on the present page was from my actual provider Swisscom! HiHi
