The download page is up at www.smallwall.org/download.html with some coding tools and some very early release images based on the last snapshot. They also have a first pass at l2tp support...

Disable firmware version check This will cause m0n0wall not to check for newer firmware versions when the System: Firmware page is viewed.

I was looking at that, but I will be wanting to use it later. Perhaps set it disabled by default in the preview versions...

My vote would be to have it default to "OFF". I guess you noticed the reference to m0n0wall.
And "Keep diagnostics in navigation expanded" checked by default as well.

Actually, I am thinking of making all of the categories either collapsed or expanded by default a setting. I am looking at how to do it, and it would make the left side pain much more compact.

Roy, Are your IPSEC tunnels set to "Aggressive?" If so, when you set them to "Main" does the problem go away for you? We are trying to narrow this down.

It was set to "Aggressive" and switching it to "Main" seems to have fixed the problem.
While we are talking about IPSec Tunnels, I have lots of them for all the m0n0walls I support. I would like to be able to check a box and move them up and down in the list so I could organize them by company. Not a big deal but it would be a cool feature to have.

System: Advanced setup:
"Disable firmware version check This will cause m0n0wall not to check for newer firmware versions when the System: Firmware page is viewed."
Still shows m0nowall
