Following the email threads I hope this SmallWall initiative is the "next m0n0wall" 
I am just a regular user using m0n0wall at home since 2006, starting with an old PC with NICs, to this fall when I decided to get a Soekris 65XX. As for functionality on m0n0wall, I am using the VLAN, VPN, Traffic shaping and FW rules - and it just works brilliant for my use. I hope to be able to use my Soekris for quite some time forward and not have to start using it as a bookshelf-holder, since its probably not powerful enough to run the OPNSense with its HW requirements.
