Hello,
I have upgraded to smallwall 1.8.3 from m0n0wall 1.8.x and everything worked right out of the box using the old configuration. When setting up L2TP VPN feature, however, I think I hit a bug. The following entries in my system log show the cause of the failure:
If I read correctly, there appears to be a missing CR in the config file at line 41 which reads:
Please keep up the good work!

Well, L2TP is still new, and I was surprised that we have not found more bugs yet. But I have not seen thins one before, so it may be a configuration problem we are not sanity checking for. I am on vacation now, but will be home next week and can look more into it. In the mean time, can you post your configuration?

I got the exact same issue!
It seems there is a missing line feed after the l2tp config and if you have mobile IPSec enabled it will get garbled.

It seems mobile IPSec gets added last. L2tp config gets inserted between IPSec tunnels and mobile IPSec. However due to a missing line feed the config gets garbled. After disabling mobile IPSec everything works fine.

There is a few known conflicts between mobile IPsec and L2TP so far. If you have some patches, I would LOVE them! We am having a hard time finding a way to make them both work at the same time.
