So there have been some bug reports, and I went looking for them... And yeah, I could not find them. So this is for me. If something in support looks like a bug, I will move it here. If some one posts a bug and it turns out to be user error, I will move it to support. And hopefully, I will be able to find things now!

Not sure if it is a bug or not on my MITXPC system after loading a serial-pc image, beta version 11. ***************************************** System: Firmware
Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /usr/local/www/system_firmware.php on line 156 Firmware uploading is not supported on this platform. ***************************************** after rebooting the SYSTEM screen shows: Version 1.8.4b10 built on Tue May 17 14:04:40 CDT 2016 Platform Generic PC (serial console) Architecture i386 CPU Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU D2500 @ 1.86GHz Memory 1995MB OS FreeBSD 8.4-RELEASE-p36 (199506) System Date Sun Jul 3 21:41:46 PDT 2016
Is it suppose to be a (serial console) or just a plain Generic PC?
Thoughts on how to fix, as upgrading a Generic PC image errors out before uploading?

The mitxpc images are generic-pc with custom default configs. Upgrading with a standard generic-pc should work fine, and all you loose is the autoconfigured network interfaces when you reset to default.
